The Organization Committee is proud to announce the 4th edition of the AXON-meeting that will be held on September 27-29, 2023 at the Villa Gadea Hotel, Altea (Alicante), Spain.

This conference is the 4th edition of an initiative that aims to organize an European counterpart forum to the American CSHL and GRC meeting series in the field of Development and Function of Neural Circuits. The idea behind these meetings is to create an interactive platform for the exchange of ideas and newest technologies to stimulate the conception of collaborative projects aiming at a better understanding of the fundamental principles of neural circuit assembly.

The two first editions (2015 and 2017) took place in Klosterneuburg (Vienna) and the third edition was host in Alicante (Spain) in 2019. All of them were a big success and many participants from all around the world attended. After skipping 2021 due to the pandemic situation, this time the meeting will be held in Altea, a small sunny town near Alicante located on the Mediterranean cost of Spain. Altea sits on top of a hill whose highest altitude is dominated by the belltower of the parish church and numerous step, cobbled streets, small miradors and bowers that begin the descent towards the sea.

The meeting includes talks from world renowned leaders in the field of developmental and circuit neuroscience as well as several short talks given by top young researchers (PhD students, postdocs and junior group leaders) that will be selected from the pool of submitted abstracts.

This meeting is an excellent occasion to foster fruitful scientific interactions and discussions, and therefore, we look forward to seeing you in Altea in September 2023.
